Over the last few years, many of my artist peers ask me how I sell my art and want to know what they can do to have better sales of their art. I always thought what I did was common knowledge. I realize that it's not now. I hid my art for all my early adult life and worked in the fashion industry instead. The good thing about that was that I learned so much about business and relationships before I decided to become a full-time artist that it was second nature for me to combine the two.
There are a lot of art coaching and mentoring styles, what I do different is lead from actual experience and examples that you can use and alter to make your own and apply to your own practice. I am also a FULL TIME working artist and that comes first, so doing this by pre-recorded video let’s me provide the information during my selected “down” times, and upload so that you can access on your own time.
I don’t buy into the whole starving artist myth. Seeing yourself as a business changes everything Selling art is the business not making it.
Just because you attach a dollar amount to your work and actually work your ass off to sell it and make a good living doesn't mean you are a sell-out, it means you are a good artist AND a good business person. It also means you can spend your day working on art and selling it instead of having to work another job and do something you don't love.
I plan to release a series of videos on my website in early February. Each will address certain topics related to selling art. Unlike other art mentors or motivators, I plan to lead by example (I know, I said that already, it's important). I am not into the inspirational positive thinking mantra method. I want to explain things that I have learned and share the exact things that I have done that have led to connections and sales in every aspect.
I am not going to hold your hand or dig inside I am just going to share the business side of what I do.
I will clearly show topics and what I plan to address before I release the videos and then you can choose one or all, whichever you think may be most helpful. In my first free video, I will be sharing everything I plan to discuss in the upcoming videos. Each video after that you can pay as you go $15 each. Consider it a coffee and a bagel as we BS about art.
Thanks so much for signing up. I really look forward to sharing what I know and guiding you through 2023 to your best art sales year yet!
