Immortal, Not Patient

Original Contemporary Mixed-Media Painting | 16 × 20 inches

Ancient beauty meets modern rebellion in Immortal, Not Patient, an original mixed-media painting by contemporary artist Susan Washington.

A weathered classical figure emerges against a deep charcoal-gray background, surrounded by distressed typography, layered imagery, expressive brushwork, and unexpected flashes of color. A small red heart and flame introduce a playful contrast to the figure's timeless, almost defiant expression.

Part of Washington's Subway Sonnets series, this abstract figurative artwork combines classical imagery with the raw visual language of urban walls, graffiti, and timeworn posters.

An accessible entry into collecting original contemporary art, this one-of-a-kind painting brings an intriguing mix of history, abstraction, and contemporary attitude to modern interiors.
